Blogging during ITB lesson...

Promoting Gone Shopping to people all around with flyers, and heard from ICP lecturer - Ms Helen Ng that the movie has received good reviews, and she commented that Kym is very pretty in person ^^

Gone Shopping movie premiere!
Wednesday, July 25, 2007
Posted @ 1:36 AM

Date: 24 July 07, Tuesday
Time: 8pm - 11pm
Venue: Vivo City GV

It was pretty populated, many people crowding around the place where the producers, the casts, director will go on stage and talk about their experience in filming Gone Shopping.
All halls (12) were showing Gone Shopping, and many audiences too. Some had went for the 7pm slot due to their purchase of tickets online in which the amount is donated to The Substation.

Saw artistes like Lee Teng, Pornsak, Jiang Cheng Xi (with gf), Ben (with wife), Lin Cui Fang, Wu Luo Yi, Patricia Mok... didn't know if I miss out any, besides the casts - Kym, Adrian Pang and Chen Shu Cheng. Was sitting beside the auntie who came out for the very first scene in the movie speaking cantonese. She enjoyed it pretty much ^^

The movie was rather in depth (is that what you call for 有深度?) as you need to be observant and be able to analyse what is happening to the 3 characters in the show, and I realise that I didn't manage to see some parts which was related to what happened in the end.

Its 3 stories happening together to different people and they are not linked at all.
Kym is the main lead - acting as Clara Wong, the 40-year-old 'tai-tai' leads a life of emptiness... and the story on her part is sad.

Though it was a story with depth and needs more thinking, I feel that Kym's acting is good! Her facial expressions really speaks a lot about the feeling and she brought out the soul of the character. Ya, I really feel that Kym portrayed the character - Clara Wong, in a very distinctive manner, and she did a great job.

Its really unlike Kym to be in such a character because we have never seen her so, we had been seeing her as bubbly, funny and crazy in variety shows. My brother's friends commented that: "Wow... Kym can actually act very well!" Well, Kym has succeeded in this breakthrough role in her very first movie.

Yeah, Kym should venture into acting sometimes... I do wish to see her in dramas, movies etc.
She can be serious, most importantly, not only can she host, she can act too!

Anyway I felt that Adrian's appearance doesn't seem to be a 'guest appearance', seems more like a supporting character.
The movie is meaningful but needs more observation, analysation and interpretation skills 'cos its quite 'Chim' for people of our age (17 - 18). It is also something different from the local media industry, this is an artistic kind of movie which you need to be more appreciative. A good approach in venturing into this area where it is rarely seen in local movies.
Movies are not only entertainment and business, it is also an art.
But the publicity for Gone Shopping is very little... such as on TV, newspapers... etc.

By the way, I've seen the movie poster pasted outside the staff room at SP business block (T19 - 22).

And @ Marina Square!

The Producer - Fazila aka 'Fuzzy' (Below)Kym as beautiful as ever for the gala premiere

Oh ya, Happy Birthday to 3rd Bro, Chris and SF!

Celebration of Ah Ma's Birthday!
Saturday, July 21, 2007
Posted @ 11:37 PM

Was a big gathering everytime @ my uncle's bungalow during this type of occasions...
Buffet catering, fruits, red wine, sushi, drinks etc.
Don't know whether is it me that's tired or is it due to the rectangular flat-screen TV, I simply felt sleepy when watching TV there... (Well, it was comfy enough...)
Sang Happy Birthday song to Ah Ma while taking photos (updating soon)
Can see the loving-ness Ah Gong has for Ah Ma... its warm-hearted and sweet
'Cos Ah Ma has health problems and senile
But Ah Gong stood by her all the while
Ah Gong is 88 this year, and Ah Ma 85
So you can see, its been really a long way they have come through together :)

By the way, I've opened the mailbox and there the envelope laid!
(Gone Shopping premiere tickets!)

(The Invitation)Reception & Speech @ 8pm
Screening @ 9pm

Gone Shopping Premiere Tix?
Posted @ 1:21 AM

Actually went to Kismet Films Pte Ltd @ Chinatown after school yesterday to get the movie gala premiere tix for Gone Shopping from Kym's PA for the movie - Chris, but ended up they told us that the movie tix has been sent to me. =/ But anyway, I wasn't disappointed at all! Instead, I gained a lot from yesterday's visit to Kismet Films.

Their office was very comfy, with soft lighting, cooling aircon, a comfortable-looking sofa makes up a very cosy feeling, just like a home!

Chris was not there, but the Producer - Fazila and Line Producer -Ying Ru who were present were very friendly! Fazila could easily engage in a conversation with us and speaking in a very relaxed way very confidently. She told us that she had been in the Media industry for 17 years!! We were very shocked 'cos she looked quite young! It's really "我出来闯的时候你还在喝奶" =x
She goes on talking about her experiences in making ads and movie in which Gone Shopping is their first feature fim, and she's pretty humourous as well!

Fazila offered us the movie posters but I told her that Aqmar and Aileen didn't get it from the press conference the other time, so she got them the poster which featured Kym from the pile of posters which was to be given out on the movie gala premiere. (How nice of her!!) Then later a call came, and it was the Director - Wee Li Lin. Fazila turned on the speaker of the phone and told her, "Hi, Li Lin, these are Kym's fans! Say Hi!" and we "Hi!!" to her, which she responded with laughters. Hahahaha...

The line producer - Ying Ru then handed me some 500 flyers of Gone Shopping to distribute around. *Stunned* Hahaha... anyway, I have my ways to deal with them... and I'm sure you people reading my blog would help me right? =x

Well, Fazila is anti-piracy 'cos its the creators work, but people are just buying it off at a low price (to which she say is due to the easy availability). Hmm... I guess we should reflect on this, though I rarely buying dvds/vcds, but I guess you want your work to be respected, not copied by others and being distributed in this way right? (Try la...try =x)

We got to eat the yummy dessert (my favourite - mango dessert with pomelo bits!!) @ 味香园! (Though price went up.) There's also peanut paste, black sesame paste, walnut paste, almond paste... pumpkin cake, water chestnut cake... etc.

The Gone Shopping Movie Gala Premiere is held
next Tuesday (24 Jul 07), Vivo City Golden Village @ 7pm!

Zouk clubbing on Friday the 13th!
Saturday, July 14, 2007
Posted @ 5:23 PM

We (Me, Aileen, Jovis, Syawal & Aqmar) are part of the crew for the Oops! magazine launch @ Zouk yesterday, some of us were helping out with the goodie bags while others are "ushers".

Benefits of helping with goodie bags : a lot of free stuff!

We got a full bag for each of us filled with post-it pads & highlighters by Singtel, hair cut discount cards by Curve and discount vouchers from New Urban Male!

Just look at the crowd! The queue was very long by 7.30pm... and the queue was never ending... till around 8.15pm! Managed to distribute all the 400 goodie bags, and there were VIPs... no idea who are they, but some are lecturers and there's Fairuz BOSS too! Hahaha... It was so supportive of the SP stuents!

We "knock off" from our job at around 8.30pm and went in to join the others for the concert and stuff like that!
The crowd there wasn't moving to the beat when the performers were singing!! Can only see a few moving, and if we stopped our movements, basically we can see STATUES all over!! Hahahahaha!!~

Then later was the PARTY to groove around!! Music were played and many starts to dance around, and we moved from the back all the way to the front... and there's only people around the stage... others are just sitting around to chill

WOOT! We danced for like 40 minutes or so, the music were great and everybody were enjoying so much! Scream, shout, dance, move or sing all you want! Never knew clubbing as so fun! Hahaha all the stress were unleashed! Several photographers took quite some pics of us too!

At the end of the whole event, we helped Fairuz to get all the stuff to the carpark at Grand Copthorne Hotel, and I was told by Peng Peng that they were giving Fairuz an early Bday celebration so asked us to follow along. =x

Saw President SR Nathan when we were at the main hall of the hotel, there's quite some people surrounding him as he got onto the car and waved goodbye to them. Cool huh?!

Then saw a sports car which was awesome! Busy taking photos of it hahaha...
Sang Fairuz Happy Bday song at a playground nearby and heard the seniors saying "Happy 23rd Bday" as my thought goes (HMMM~~....) =x Wished her Happy Bday and we went off on our way home! The Boss of Fairuz was thanking us and saying that we did a good job all the time hahaha Actually didn't help much, enjoyed ourselves more than we helped out! lol

Saw another fantastic sports car drove past when we were at the bus stop. WOOT. People there are simply affluent!

This 1st official clubbing experience of mine was free! So, PHLS if we are going to clubbing @ the end of the year, the price is between $23 - $28 for ladies @ Zouk!
And as it was my Official entry to Zouk, I didn't have to get this. =x
Was really amazed by some of the crew over there 'cos they looked like year 3 students but was actually younger than me (Year 1/Year2) and had to be tagged for being at Zouk! AHHH!! But thinking on the bright side, I look younger than them. HAHAHAHA!

Shopping... on Monday??
Monday, July 9, 2007
Posted @ 10:28 PM

Well, it was after CC lesson... so off Jovis, Aqmar, Aileen and I went to Tanjong Pagar with Syawal to collect his pay, the place is very historic and somehow has flies around and red ant around.

Then we went to Vivo, spent some time @ Toys'r'us

and headed for our lunch, @ Secret Recipe.

I had Frosty Lemon Tea and Noodle in Tom Yum Chicken

it tastes real nice as can see from my pose for the Tom Yum dish!

And as you can see... the price was quite "nice" too... haha

This is Choc Ice Blended, Strawberry Milkshake, Frosty Lemon Tea (2) and Ice Cuppucino

Secret Recipe didn't had Orange, Watermelon and Green Apple when the rest tried to order Frosty juices of it, and they don't have the Choc for Choc Milkshake too (when it was only 1pm) -.-!
Took photos with Simpson family @ GV too & also saw the big poster for Kym's movie - Gone Shopping.

Had Crunchy Shrimps with a drink for snack @ $2.90 - LJS.

That's all for today, and off rushing projects now!!
