Went to the long awaited IT show - Sitex 2008 yesterday!
Have been planning to buy a new camera after my beloved lost one...
and here you see, in the above picture, is my new camera - Canon Powershot SX110 IS! (Proudly sponsored by my 2nd Bro)
The digital zoom is great man, the image doesn't pixelate even though I zoom to the max. You won't believe how far it can go... I can see the plastic bag on the corridor of my opposite block with the word - Fair Price on it! HAHA
And also bought a 1 terabyte hard disk for a very reasonable price! There's a lot of people at such fairs... who says it's recession? Oh, maybe it's because of such fairs that help to boost the economy. =x
Guess what? I'm still going to watch a play with all that shopping! Lucky Dad is always there to transport them on his vehicle! YAY! So I've shed away the "weight" with me, but of course, keeping the camera with me 'cos it'll come to good use.
It's amazing how I survived through the whole day with my continuous sneezes going on and my inner double eyelid showing... So I'm not posting up pictures of me with my one-eyed double eyelid photos!
We got kinda lost at Redhill and actually thought of walking to Tisch Asia... in the end we gave up and took a cab, it was sure Ulu-balu...
The play was named "It's not the size that matters!" by students of Tisch Asia. Seven 10-minute plays in all. It's not your usual drama performance, but they use their voice to act out the play! And I enjoyed all of them! It's a unique way of putting up a play. Wee LiLin (director of Gone Shopping) is involved in directing, scriptwriting and also narrating different plays. She got her scholarship to study scriptwriting in Tisch Asia - a New York University, School of the Arts.
Oh, and this picture is amazing. It wasn't me wearing the knee-length bermudas, wearing pointed white pair of shoes and holding to the programme sheet. It was someone beside me, but it looks like the hand and legs belongs to me!
Here are some of our imitation of the posters there...
Below are imitations by Me + Leen, and Wals + Jov. Which is a better imitation? =x
This wasn't an imitation actually, Jov is trying to be a "thief" in stealing electricity to charge her handphone HAHA
LiLin was very nice to offer us a ride out 'cos it's really ulu-balu there... and she got her mum to drive us. So honoured! Her mum is a nice lady too, she's very supportive and proud of her director-daughter. Leen and Wals alighted at Redhill while me, Jov and another girl who's a theatre actress (whom we almost forgot that she's hitching a ride with us 'cos she went to the loo first) alighted later at Orchard.
Orchard is so beautiful to look at with the lightings ready for christmas celebration!
Woohoo! Let me show you some pictures of "behind-the-scenes" of Face Off event!
19 Nov, Wednesday
We had our lunch @ Pizza Hut, proudly sponsored by Dioni.
And on our way to buy more stuff for the event, transport by Dioni.
20 Nov, Thursday
More poses with the materials!
This is the other puzzle
We took this picture in the toilet, since Aq & Wals can't join us (obviously), here's what I did.

I really like the the opening for the show!
It starts with a video in black and white of some kids... fighting and rushing back home to watch TV, accompanied with the song "看电视" is just so apt!
Then back to the studio itself, we have the earliest generation of artistes on Singapore TV up on stage, introducing each and every of their names.
And this way of introduction applies for the rest of the artistes.
It was beautiful done.
The variety and drama impersonation by the artistes really let me laugh my heads off man! It was so hilarious! LOL And ex-hosts would be invited on the segment to be interviewed about their memories on their show.
This was Comedy Night!
(L to R): "我的头发有没有乱?" (by Kym), "伤脑筋哦!" (by Guo Liang), the actual "Liang Xi Mei" (Jack Neo), Lion King (by Hui-Ge), 小龙女 (by Patricia Mok), Rubbish Bin (by Mark Lee)
Guo Liang was beyond FUNNY in all his roles, especially as Liang Xi Mei! It was so out from his usual image! HAHA
This is my all-time favourite variety programme - 城人杂志 (City Beat)!
The first generation of hosts was actually He Yong Fang, Pan Ling Ling, Chew Chor Meng and Bryan. Then He Yong Fang had to go overseas for filming, and Kym went in to substitute her temporarily.
But it turned out that the show went so well with Bryan, Kym, Sharon Au and Lina Ng as the hosts! It was such a big hit then.
With some classic characters like Miss Tan (by Kym) - classic quote "我舍~么!都会" and "给我从头再来!" and the "志己"family - 志己来 (by Bryan) HAHA
A pity that Bryan and Sharon Au are not there... I would love to see the fab four doing this segment together.
And of course, how could we forget Liang Po Po and her "Wooo... wooo... woo... woo..."?
Winner of the 'Most Classic Variety Character'
Impersonation of the character - '龅牙嫂' (originally by Hong Hui Fang) by husband (Zheng Ge Ping). He was equally hilarious too! Hong Hui Fang couldn't stop laughing when he impersonates right beside her!
Need I say more? Their imitation spells everything!
(L to R): Lobang King (by Pornsak), Bobo (by Quan YiFong), Yan Fei (by Hui-Ge) and Xie Shao Guang's role in Golden Pillow!
One of my all-time favourite drama was Unbeatables I & II! HAHA
All of them would do a pose similar to that which was shown in the video still image, and that 'half-screen original vs half-screen imitation' shows that we need "Quality Control" HAHA!
The stage is flooding with talents!
Oh yes I do enjoy the show. It was unique and beyond entertaining!
The song - 看电视 is still ringing in my head.
To end on a final note, here's Kym!
Working on another drama - 乒乓圆 after 团圆饭.
And oh, Liting couldn't calm down after witnessing how the other fans can be so diversified in their relationship with so many artistes. HAHA

comment (1)It took place finally today!
Time flies when you are busy man.
We were buzzing around the whole morning and then it was time to have our McDonald's breakfast! I took apple juice but was 'ostracised' by the other 'cos they all took Milo. But hey. Apple juice is nice ok.
The event was - Face off @ D'Media Club!
Which we invite all Sec 4 students waiting for O's results/Sec 3s to come experience our course.
The performance was quite entertaining over @ the SPCC (a huge theatre that can hold over a thousand seats!)
There was the ice breaker game - Superhero ID, building mascot game - Larger than life, puzzling pieces which they had to piece up into a picture of a poster and a photo (the quality of the puzzles are high ok).
--------------------------------------------------
Then also Good vs Bad Media which I was the Emcee in a MLT (Main Lecture Theatre) whereby hundred over people would be there in their respective groups seated together and answer questions on the powerpoint slides. The crowd was quite good and it went pretty ok. Except that time control was quite a problem. And also not forgetting that someone was trying to usurp my role as the Emcee. So irritating.
And it was a bit stressful to have all the lecturers - Ping, Ms Low, Ms Peter... and the School of CASS director there! It was my first time being an emcee. Didn't think I did very well though. Well, there's always a first time.
At least I can see that they are enjoying themselves there. Speaking of which, it didn't turn out the way it was for the other MLT because of some hiccups. Quite a letdown actually, because we've planned all along just for this day to happen, but. Duh.
--------------------------------------------------
The students were awarded with super great prizes ok! Ranging from Crumpler bags, Canon IXUS digital camera, Sony PSP to 16gb Ipod touch and $100 Levi's vouchers! Before that they were also given Ben & Jerry's vouchers ok. Walao. I wish I was them. But no no. I don't want to go back to the O'levels stage again. Nightmare.
There were lots and lots of McDonald's leftovers, which were supposedly our lunch, but still a lot. So... just pack as many as you want home! HAHA There's enough for all your friends, relatives... =x I would have appreciated the McDonald's meal even more if there's Garlic Chilli. But you see, now that they've changed their chilli, I don't quite like it anymore.
What's with that special order sticker? It's not nuggets. Only chicken patty with bread.
(Trying to redeem myself because I took home many chicken burgers)
Oh, and we took cans and cans of Coke home too. The rest of my clique simply took a carton of it! LOL Mine wasn't that little as well, so I called Dad to pick me up and also gave a lift to Aq and Leen.
Kudos to all the Game Masters! We've made it!
All the lecturers rocks too!
And also thanks to the GFactors and helpers.
*Would be updating with more photos when I get it from the others soon!

comment (0)Update for 20 Nov, Thursday.
It was couple of weeks ago...
Took part in the anti-piracy video competition (The Media Challenge) jointly organised by SP and Motion Pictures Association America, supported by 4 schools:
School of Business
School of Digital Media and Infocomm Technology
School of Communication, Arts and Social Sciences
School of Design
We only started our plans on Wed (5 Nov), Filming & Editing on Fri (7 Nov) *There was quite some problem with the importing on Friday man* and Editing on Sat (8 Nov)... and the submission date was Monday, 10 Nov! We did it within 4 days!
Award ceremony was held TODAY (20 Nov).
We were supposed to go for the rehearsal yesterday, but was busy with organising Saturday's Face Off event, so weren't able to.
And we only get to know the winners of the The Media Challenge today!
They actually 'crashed' a lecture to hold the award ceremony in that MLT. No wonder there's so many people. HAHA
When they had the mouse-over the '2nd prize' video, it showed the duration of the video being 49secs, so I knew it wasn't ours. And the 'special prize' video's thumbnail view isn't ours too.
The put the '1st prize' video in another folder. That is when we got nervous.
When they played it, we were all so elated about it and cheered so loudly!!
WE WON!
(There's just so many reasons to dress up nicely today 'cos we got class photoshoot and award ceremony and also staying back till late for dry run of Face Off event. Clothes are fully utilised today! HAHA)
And I teared while watching our video being played before everyone's eyes! LOL
And YAY! the whole team went to shook hands and took picture with the Guest-of-honour - Mr Dan Glickman, CEO of Motion Pictures Association America!
That's such great honour man.
Now now, you will sure be asking "So what did you win?"
We won $300 Harvey Norman vouchers (as a group), Certificate, and the chance to meet Mark Burnett (the producer of reality shows e.g. Survivor, Amazing Race)!
WOOHOO! That's awesomely cool.
We just got so excited after the award ceremony that we can't wait to share the joy with the others, we couldn't care much even when lots of food was displayed before us! LOL
Went to the the staff room long stretch of corridor, and knock on the ones that we know to inform them about it!
First up was Ms Trudy and another lecturer... hoho! They were happy for us, and even wants someone to write about this thing so that it can be published in the school's magazine.
Next was Ping! Her reaction was so BIG! And I mean BIG! She literally jumped out from her $699 chair and exclaimed with such excitement! LOL WAHAHA That reaction totally rocks! Ping, if you are reading this... hahaha. You should have seen it yourself. So funny!
Then along the way met RJ, his reaction was so flat. HAHAHA. Then went on to tell Christina... Dioni... =x
All of them asked the same question immediately "So what did you all win?" So Jovis answered repeatedly. HAHA!
Last week I told my team mates I dreamt that we didn't win. And they went "Aiyo", "CHOY" HAHA That goes to show how dreams are different from reality. =x
Now, I want to thank all my superb team mates - Jovis, Syawal, Aqmar, Aileen, Sin Kai & Lay Teng!
Our duties in this video production:
Me - Director/Editor
Jovis - Assistant Director/Story line-up
Syawal - Soundman
Aqmar - Cameraman
Lay Teng - Assistant Cameraman
Aileen - Assistant Editor
Sin Kai - Producer
(And oh, we also made guest appearance in the video itself. HAHA)
Not forgetting my casts to thank for - Celest, Cassandra & Flora!
Oh by the way, 2nd prize was won by Kevin, who is also our classmate! He did a one-man show! Kudos to him!
Here's a group picture for the winners!
Here's the video! (Quality quite bad after conversion. =/ On your speaker louder too!)
