Yet another gathering today!
Topic: Anthing under the world worth gossiping about
Venue: Ms Yellow's house
Time: 1pm +

It was actually for 3 purposes,
1 - PS came back from China after her intenship
2 - PJ farewell before she set off for her internship to US
3 - Ms Yellow's birthday!

When girls get together, it's non-stop chattering. Haha. But it's a very nice feeling to sit around a table and talk for hours... bonding session with all the sharing of personal experiences.
We were recalling about the primary school days... and laughed so much about the nicknames we gave other people and about the silly things we did those days...
I guess we are like one in a million that keep in touch since primary school.
People usually goes, "HUH! Meet primary school friends?!" with my mentioning of outing with my gang. Haha... I'm not surprised with their reaction though... It's so normal 'cos it occurs so often. If people say they meeting their primary school mates I'll be rather surprised myself too, needless to say them. Haha.
But I sometimes really do envy myself for having such childhood friends. Hahaha...

We were talking about how the other primary school mates are doing now, it seems like we've come so far together... graduating from primary, secondary, then poly, some JC, now are in Uni... Wah... Time flies. Really. Soon we'll be seeing ourselves working full-time...

Oh, today's gathering was actually for Ms Yellow's birthday also.
We brought in cake and present, but she didn't notice.
I tried to hide the cake under the table, then PS ask, "Why don't put in the fridge, put here?" Then I faster whispered, "She (Ms. Y) don't know!" =x
Later Kf and I went into the study room to prepare the cake while Ms. Y was making order of pizza, but suddenly we heard her voice coming towards the study room direction! Kf went to the door trying to block her but didn't succeed!
She just came in and get a pen to write down some things... then I came out.
Kf went in again and brought the cake out, apparently, Ms. Y didn't see the cake which was BESIDE her only!!
HAHA!

We all laughed when she went into the study room.
Then we quickly went into the kitchen to search for a lighter to light the candle while Ms. Y went to change.
But to our horror, we couldn't find it!! So we frantically search all around but to no avail!
Then she suddenly came in to the kitchen.
Kf hid in the toilet with the cake. LOL!!
I tried to cover Kf, but Ms. Y was staying in the kitchen for too long!
So Kf just close the toilet door with herself inside! And we kept trying to make Ms. Y go out of the kitchen and after that continue our search of the lighter, but still didn't succeed.
So Kf and I decide to just come out of the kitchen and sang the birthday song.
Ms. Y was surprised!
YAY! Success man! HAHA! It was a successful birthday surprise! Muahaha.

Happy Birthday Ms. Yellow!

After that went to CWP to walk around and decide to have dinner at the 7th level foodcourt. We escalate level by level by the esclator... and when finally reached, we found out something.
We don't have much cash on us!!
If we were to cash money from the ATM, it would meant that we have to go down again...
So being like rather lazy... we squeezed out whatever we have for our dinner... and with PJ's bf rescue, we were able to have a rather decent meal with drinks lah. HAHA Crazy girls.

Oh, and here are the little pressies PB & PS brought back form Switzerland and ShanDong respectively...

Happy Teachers' Day!

Happy Teachers' Day!

Went back to sec school today... got a chance to engage in some small talks with the teachers. Some teachers were missing though... transferred, on maternity leave, in hospital...
hope to see them next time!

I missed the moments when the whole school celebrate a occasion together! There's so much atmosophere in the air... but misses aside, I don't want to go through O levels again. =x
Some teachers were actually performing when it's supposed to be teachers' day celebration, I guess that's a chance for them to showcase their talents other than teaching! Haha!
The students were cheering along and it was very entertaining! I guess that's where the fun is.

The librarian shared her experience with the students with us... and wah... ok. I'm a super Guai Kia (obedient child), get it? HAHA!

Caught Money No Enough 2 in the cinema just now with Dad and Mum!
It's my FIRST time watching with both of them together!

Ok, let me say about the movie.
It was superb ok!!
The lines were very interactive, lively and convey straight to the point!
I like the... editing of the mother talking to different sons and replying in the same way...
and the lines were very touching, you can feel the love of a mother for her children no matter what.
Script was very well written.
And don't be surprise, the best actor in the movie was Hui-Ge!
The you-will-laugh-like-mad scene between Hui-Ge and the mother (Li Ming) was so so hilarious!
Tears flowed because of I laughed too much at that, also because of the touching scenes...
Normally shows/movies that came out with a 2nd series would not be as good as the first one, but Jack Neo's movie doesn't happen this way!
Just look at I Not Stupid Too and Money No Enough 2, and you can't help but praise the brilliant ideas and improvements he has made to the movie though it relates to similar issues.
His movie selling point is the content of the story, which is the skeleton of the whole movie, and which is a very crucial support.

I've been listening to the song 家后 (Gei Ao as pronounced in Hokkien) which means 'Wife' since Tuesday... (and also first heard of the song in Taiwan soap opera) because the lyrics were extremely meaningful and with the complement of the music, it's such a classic. Listening it again during the movie still moved me to tears.

Some movie critics gave his movie half a star/one star, and I feel that's too underated. Seriously, how could you rate him so unreasonably?!
The negative points would most probably be the hard-selling of sponsored products, but I think that's inevitable, if not, where do you think the budget come from?

I thought that the movie has been in cinemas for about a month already (31 July premiere), there wouldn't be that many people, but till today (29 Aug) the whole cinema is almost full! So can you imagine how good the movie's response is?!

So yeah, if you haven't watch Money No Enough 2, go catch it. Chop! Chop! You won't regret it!

As the Beijing Olympics had its closing ceremony for the 16 days of exciting sports events yesterday, it marks the end to the days which I could turn on the TV as and when I like and there's something for me to watch!

As the fire which had been burning in the gigantic olympic torch for 16 days was put out, it kicks off a beautiful closing, with the stylistic fireworks throughout the whole city of Beijing and songs ongoing sang by famous chinese singers in the 'bird's nest'... the whole ceremony was a joyous party! Next olympics - London in 2012!

::

The one that shouldn't end so early ended.
The one that should end hasn't.

I can only catch mostly the encore shows which are ever so enjoyable... like Liang Po Po which made me laugh my head off, Comedy Night & Different Cuts Different Strokes... some 5.30pm and 11pm encore drama... Haha. comment (0)

This was the bus I saw this morning when the bus I was on drove past and as it stopped and open its doors at a nearby bus stop, I could smell the burnt.
I was was shocked for a while to see the the half-burnt bus.
As mentioned in the article, it happened at 6.18am and the bus service no. was 187. (It wasn't the one I always take)
Luckily there wasn't any passengers on board.
The back cabin of the bus was all burnt and left with the main structure, and yeah, the state of the bus in which I had saw was the same to the picture on the extreme left hand side of the article.
Reason of burnt: the engine caught fire
-------------------------------------------------------

Ahh...! It's been a week now that my camera is lost.
Why... why didn't anybody return it?
Haven't they heard of not picking up things that doesn't belong to you on the streets or wherever during the Hungry Ghost Month?
Finders keepers, losers weepers. What a line.
Still heart-aching over the loss... I want my camera back...
Give me back my Olympus SP 550 UZ!

For those who still don't understand, I lost my camera BUT I didn't lose my camera because... I'm not the one who lost it.
Ironic eh?
Or a better way to put it is,
My camera is lost, but I didn't lose it.
Haha.

I wish my camera could be found back like the way my thumbdrive was found the other time when I lost it.
I should have tied a map and a compass on it so that it can find it's way back to me.

Olympics: Table Tennis - Women's Finals

Singapore VS China

Once again, an exciting match that the whole nation is keeping their eyes glued to!
Even the national day rally was postponed to tomorrow for everyone's focus on the Finals!

It was a match of 6, 7, 9 VS 1, 2, 5!
And it kicks start at 7.30pm sharp!

--------------------------------------------

First up was Feng Tianwei VS Wang Nan
1 VS 3

Tianwei won the first game and that's worth applauding for!
She has quick reflexes and it's certainly enjoyabe to watch her play!
She was ranked world no. 73 last year and this year she's already ranked world no. 9!
She even won Zhang Yi Ning (world no. 1) early this year in the Japan world cup match!
Though eventually lost to Wang Nan (world no.5) in the next 3 games, she is no doubt a rare gem to be even further polished!

--------------------------------------------

Oh not forgetting to mention, the commentator over at China geared up the China nationals to cheer for Singapore as well!

让我们为新加坡加油好不好?
"好!"
新加坡!
"加油!"
新加坡!"加油!"
新加坡!"加油!"

That's so... encouraging and sporting of them!

--------------------------------------------

Next up was what I had expected,
Li Jia Wei VS Zhang Yi Ning
1 VS 3

Li Jia Wei (world no. 6) has proven herself a competent opponent with her fast and aggressive attacks! Quite some fascinating shots here and there... it's such a pleasure to hear the "tik tik tiak tiak" sound from the hittings on the bat!
She won the the first game, and having the same fate as Tianwei, Jia Wei lost the next 3 games in the match too.
There's no doubt about the techniques of Zhang Yi Ning, she's fast in demonstrating her skills.
And an interesting thing was that Li Jia Wei and Zhang Yi Ning attended the same sports school when they were younger.

--------------------------------------------

The deciding match - doubles by,
Wang Yue Gu/Li Jia Wei VS Guo Yue/Zhang Yi Ning
0 VS 3

Pretty well performance as the world no. 7 & no. 6 are matched up against the world no. 2 & no. 1.

--------------------------------------------

And that settles it, after a 1hr 45minutes of match,
Singapore wins a Silver!

Both sides are happy because it's the first olympic win for Singapore since Singapore's independence!
As for China, table tennis had always been their forte, so it's a promise the China trio had made to bring back the Gold medal!

--------------------------------------------

Cheers to the Singapore girls!
You all have performed well and done us proud!
To see the Singapore flag fly in the Olympics is such an honour, and you all have made this dream of Singapore came true!

The korean girl was a really tough and fabulous defender! And like what the commentator said, she has an annoying technique there. Haha. Li Jia Wei was really superb to be able to hold off so long in this match! She merely missed by that slight difference.

A really long and tough match! It started at 2.30pm and ended at 6.12pm!!
Very stunning performance by Feng Tianwei!! She's excellent in fast spinning shot! Only 21 years old, turning 22 at the end of the month, she has now a medal in her hands and that would be her greatest present ever! A potential sports star!

--------------------------------------------------

Wonderful wonderful match against Korea!
I can't help but kept "Yes!"-ing away during the match, and cheered for them! The feelings go up and down, up and down!
Especially during the last game, the points was so so very close and was such a nerve wrecking moment!
Watching it 'LIVE' is such an exciting experience!
The whole match just kept you on the edge!
And the supporters from Singapore at Beijing were always cheering
"Xin Jia Po, Jia You!" x3
Sweet.

YAY! Singapore! You GO!!
Feng Tianwei, Li Jia Wei & Wang Yue Gu!
Their expression was priceless. Touched.
You've done us proud!

Happy Birthday Singapore!

Another BIG day of the year!
Singapore celebrates the 43rd birthday today @ the Marina Bay!

I've been doing nothing but sleeping and eating today...
slept for like 15 hours, in between woke up by calls and such. It's a feeling of you can always get back to sleep although you've slept so much already!
Ahh... sleeping is a great way of revitalising yourself!
(That's why I always sleep early =x)

It was raining this late afternoon... was worried it might affect the parade.
Luckily it only drizzled in the early part of the parade.
As can see now, the sky above Marina Bay is clear and blue!
Hope it stay that way and stop raining!

I love Singapore!
Because this is my home, where I belong!
We are one united people, where dreams are possible.
We will get there and shine for Singapore, because the magic is you!

So... let us celebrate this moment, a brand new day awaits! Woohoo!

Marked this special date down!

Finally... MadMassiveReport is done. (After much late, overnight strugglings...)

I'm so AWED by the performances in the Beijing Olympic Games - Opening Ceremony!
It was a... "目不暇给" and "叹为观止" creative and artistic presentation by China! A real big eye-opening experience to the foreigners on the rich culture and history of China! You can't help *tsk tsk tsk-ing* and be so amazed by the grandeur ostentation!
The art direction was by China's renowned director - Zhang YiMou.

Oh and I bought Derrick's long-awaited album last week!

I like 无法归类 (Unclassified), 你走天桥,我走地下道 (Overhead bridge, Undergroud pass) and 咬字 (Pronunciation) the most! Especially 咬字 'cos the song was relating it to himself and the comments he received about his singing during the Project Superstar competition, and the lyrics was written by himself! A very cute and catchy song.

One last lesson today ends the whole semester's teaching! We were treated with McDonald's breakfast by Ping! Hoho... so shiok!

And... a Happy Belated Birthday message to KF here!

Gone Shopping DVD autograph session!
Saturday, August 2, 2008
Posted @ 11:15 PM

Went to the event today @ IMM!

Bought another copy of the DVD 'cos they gave out the poster as well, and it's at a lower price than in the retail shops! So this copy can let my bro in Aust to watch!
And with a small amount of donation, we can get a goodie bag which includes the following:

This bag is so nice!

Kym and the director - Wee Li Lin, did some introduction to the movie - Gone Shopping. The film was played in Shanghai, Italy, New York etc. and the response was pretty good.
Kym's response was: "Wa, then I am an internationl star also!" HAHA

And LiLin mentioned that some guys in Italy came to ask her for the female lead's number,
Kym: "Faster give faster give!" LOL

Before the event started, there were Q & A with prizes to be given out.
It was voluntarily. HOHO
During the event, same thing.
This time was involuntarily. HAHA
But anyway in both cases, I'm happy about it! =x
LiLin said my name was the same as her sister's. Haha...
And the question for both was the same, what was the occupation of Kym's role in the movie before she became a TaiTai?
Air-stewardess. =x

Wals went up the stage and played a game too!

There was an auction of the DVD as this event was partly for a charity cause also. And the bid went up to $120! How generous!

Then starts the autograph session!

Posters were given out too!

And had a mini chat with them while letting them sign on the DVD. HAHA
They are really really nice people to talk to!
Kym mentioned about our video for our school project that we produced - Welcome To My Lfe, and LiLin asked if we were film students and where we study etc. and even invited us to add her on facebook and paste her the link to our (humble) video!
How honoured!!

After the event ended, we could go and take photos with them! It was so VIP treatment! =x

Later also had another mini chat with the director about her upcoming film and such. Wah... really feel very honoured!

And also, I've watched GS before going for the event, and I could further comprehend the meaning of the film! Some transistions used were very smoothly and beautifully done!
P.S. to director: I don't mind not being paid to be extras in your film! haha...

P.S: to Kym: You can leave comment by selecting the button - Anonymous, then indicate your name at the end of the message. Alternatively, you can tag your message in the tagboard at the side bar (orange in colour).
