Big Action Star

Updated @ 7.27pm, Tues

Jov excitedly asks us to go for Jackie Chan's movie promotion roadshow @ PS.
And she was super nervous today... HAHA Big fan!

A lot of people already gathered around the stage and also on the various levels way before the stated 7pm. But you know, how could they be reaching at 7pm when they have an interview @ 93.3 FM at 6.40pm? So there was some supposedly warming up programmes going on... *wait...*

Here's the big star!

He looked very happy and took a camera, don't know from where to take pictures of the audience instead. HAHA interesting action! People waved to his camera when he was taking in each and every direction! Friendly big star.

Look! Daniel Wu was talking, he was enjoying himself and entertaining the crowd too! HA!

The upwards escalator was jammed during the middle of their appearance, and wa... shiok lor those people on the escalator, can get a clear view, and unobstructed at all!

Shinjuku Incident is banned in China! I'm surprised. And Jackie Chan is acting as a bad guy in this movie too, attracting my attention! Feel like catching the movie. Anyone? comment (0)

Catching up

Yesterday

Met up with Jov, Leen, Wals and P.yaya yesterday, laughed a lot and happy to be able to catch up with them for this holiday is a long~ one.
Caught Confessions of A Shopaholic with Jov an P.yaya in the evening.
The movie was dramatic, laughable at some point, but a bit too fast paced at the front part of the movie. Story was too exaggerating to believe though... haha. I guess reading the book is still better... (though I haven't read much of it)

Who wouldn't want to shop if one has the moolah right? But spending within one's means is a skill and a technique, which we found out after the movie that Jov's sis is a true-blue shopaholic as well, and she manages her $$ really well. Ha! Guess all of us are aiming to be like that too. =x

Today
Updated on Saturday @ 1.50pm

Regarding the anticipation, Bryan & Kym are in the Top 20 Most Popular Artistes nomination for this year's Star Awards! YAY!

Vote for Bryan : 1900 112 2018
Vote for Kym: 1900 112 2032

More info click here , here or *here!

We paid a mini sum for the movie actually, with PS free GV tix. WAHAHA!

Paul Blart: Mall Cop, being a comedy does quite have its effect. The lead is not the usual handsome/pretty face but locked our attention to follow through his story, not a very publicised movie but is worth watching 'cos you'll get laughters in return.
And of course, there is some stereotypical joke of the tamil accent of a man, just like how Confessions of a Shopaholic did it with the product the female lead bought at a sale and discovered it as an imitation when she saw the label - Made in China. *PSST!* Sensitive huh?
Actually many products are made in China, or processed there, then sent back to the originated country, and that country do some packaging etc.... export it as Made in xxxxxx. You never know.

Oh, and I think Mall Cop allows us to still hold a little hope for the typical security guards we see... (which we doubt their ability to... err. ok you get it.) =x

It was great spending time with PHLS. =x KF and HP couldn't join us for the movie 'cos they have started their full-time work life already... which is, aww so fast!
PS and I were back to our role playing for housewives' holiday again but no Alice! HAHA
Sat at the "air-con place for coffee" (term used in the show =x) we chatted... discussed about hair parting, which PB can be so flexible with either side, RW with no specific parting, PJ, PS and me with 'dead' parting. HA!

Then was suddenly into playing on PJ's iTouch. It's amazing how a simple and small gadget can get us so enthusiastic and focused =x
It just spurs me on to go into gaming again... which was, like a long long time ago. There's PS2 at home, but the game appear on the TV as B/W... -.-! and I have no games, it's my bro's. And, with my nephew around, can't too.
Maybe will dig out some of the old computer games... =x

Oh, and we are planning on catching the next movie with our other free movie tix. =x

Age is just a number

Went Eu Yan Sang to buy fever relief with Mum...
*English subtitles in italic.

Shopkeeper: "谁吃的?" Who is taking it?
Mum: "她" She (Pointing at me)
Shopkeeper: (turned to look at me and tell Mum the directions to use...) "她有超过十五岁吗?" Is she above 15?
Mum: (laughing) "她啊, 都要20了咯!" She? Going to be 20 already!
Shopkeeper: (laugh) 哦! Oh! (then continue to give instructions)

Later I asked Mum what the shopkeeper asked her about me 'cos I didn't hear clearly, then Mum told me, so there goes the above conversation.

Then I smiled happily all the way until out of CWP.

Being always a believer of age is just a number, this just proves it.
And the crux of this blog entry is - I look like I'm < 15 years old! =x
But a bit exaggerating ar... < 15. HAHA comment (0)

Baby nephew does his business...
Friday, March 20, 2009
Posted @ 2:05 PM

Mum went for check up yesterday... leaving me with baby nephew. -.-

Had a hard time changing his diapers 'cos he was wriggling like a worm, and he repay your efforts by pinching and biting you.
I left him for his own-time-own-target activity and saw him sitting there staring into space. HAHA
He saw me looking at him, I went back to the room... he crawled and sat outside the room, not long after...

Shit smell lingered.

*AHHH!!!!* I was screaming in my heart.

"Can I wait for Mum to come back to settle this??" I was thinking.

But no. His faeces are overflowing!!

*ARGH I HAVE TO DO IT*

And so, I braved myself to endure his struggles and most of all, the smell and *EEEEE!!* of his faeces to bring him to wash it off.

I was feeling nauseated at the smell and sight of it man... Might as well give him a bath I thought. Then ended up he didn't want to get out of the tub. So I just went away... and he cried so here I came back again, he's willing to come up now. Baby just needs a little threatening. HAHA

The 2 hours spending alone with him wasn't that difficult 'cos he didn't wail a lot, guess he's growing to be more obedient by A BIT now. BUT. No, not again anymore! Dad and Mum are always very accomodating to him, but I will scold him 'cos 'No means No', and so he would often go beating, pinching and biting me.

'Housewives' Holidays!
Saturday, March 14, 2009
Posted @ 11:00 PM

Yup, you guessed it! I went to the I weekly launch of new edition party @ Bugis with my jie meis. Didn't manage to take a picture with all 6 of the cast from Table of Glory, so here's it!
Kym & Chen Tai Ming - acting as divorced husband & wife, parents of Teresa.

*Oh, Kym you are 依然娇艳 but, from all of us: "Eat more~!"

Guo Liang & Teresa - Guo Liang is a famous and expert table tennis coach in the show. Teresa is one of his students.

Yah Hwee & Joshua - Yah Hwee is a baddie in the show, and Joshua is a quiet but full of potential table tennis player

*Table of Glory debut on 1 Apr, every Mon - Fri, 9pm on Ch 8.

This picture... (with a little moderation using photoshop at home) was taken at a booth set up there, PJ and KF are mosiac-ed as requested by the respective individuals. =x PS and I should have taken together instead. HAHA

PS, KF and I was taking our 'respective role' as assignd by PS, PS volunteered to be Chen Si Mei (Hong Hui Fang), then assigned KF to be Alice (Ann Kok) and Me - Zhong Ai Qin (Xiang Yun) in Housewives' Holidays.

**FYI: Housewives' Holidays is the 9pm local drama currently showing on Ch 8.

There was a promotion of making pre-order of 10 issues of I weekly for $10... so here goes...
Alice: "Eh 要不要? 要不要? 十期才十块leh!"
Si Mei: "哇! 有free的goodie bag! 我们订啦!"
Ai Qin: "Ok lor"
*Filling up form*
Alice: "你们要选哪一个(freebie)?"
Si Mei: "HAR? 不是free全部meh?"
Ai Qin: 不是啦! 选一个而已!"
Si Mei: (jokingly) "Har, ‘酱’不要了啦!" (Laughs)

Then there was milo truck.
Alice: "我有coupon!"
Si Mei: "快点快点!"
*All 3 take a sip*
Ai Qin: "Free 的东西真的是比较好喝hor?"
*LOL!*
Si Mei: "就是lor!"

We did behaved like aunties I must say. HAHA But nothing to be disgraceful of, because we will be aunties one day, and it's because of aunties that our lives became more colourful! So Kudos to Aunties!
We would be reciting the lines of the respective characters in the show on and off... more to come as you scroll down... =x

Went to Miss Clarity Cafe for dinner, which PS had been so enthu about going the last time till now she's not that enthu anymore... haha

Ai Qin: "其实我们应该去吃Buffet hor?"
Si Mei: "就是lor,我有带纸袋! 爱琴,快点过来,帮我遮一下!"
Ai Qin: "ERR!! 不要不要!"
------------------------------------------------------------
Alice: (dangling her hands showing off a (plastic) ring in front of Si Mei) "哇... 你的家很多东西hor"
Si Mei: (look at Alice's ring with big eyes) "哇!你的钻石这么大颗!""
Alice: "没有啦,我家里还有更大的,是我去年生日我老公买给我的."

The pre-starter... a taste of ginger, egg and whatever not... it tastes... ok, our expression says it all, except for KF and RW, KF likes it, and RW was just faking her expression.

The garden salad tastes very blend and very 'garden'.

OH HOHO! This one! My order: Fish Corden Bleu - it is not typo ok, it is b-l-e-u. Everyone was dying to try it. Especially the whitish garlic sauce on top of the patty. Yummy!

The ice cream didn't taste chocolately, which everyone except RW agreed, then we strained our brains to think what does it taste like actually... PS said it tastes like Apollo, which then triggered my mind: Ferrero Rocher! And all exclaimed "YA!!" like enlightened mortals. HAHA

Decided to go explore Haji Lane.

PS was trying to make a mock up of herself riding on a bike... of which none succeeded, well at least the bottom right one has a bit of the feel =x

The '3 housewives' =x

See the '3 housewives' jumps with joy because it's their 'holiday'! =x

And on the left is a human standing that had no choice but to carry the '3 housewives' bags for them while they jump and take pictures HAHAHA

A corner-mirror shot that could capture all of us!

And the MRT station mirror!
The '3 housewives' again. =x
As we were reading the magazine on the train,
Ai Qin: (Showing the page) "Eh, 有 coupon!"
Si Mei: "Oh 我正想告诉你"

Conclusion after the whole 'housewive acting':
If we can remember our school stuff like how we remembered drama's lines (though some are made up by ourselves), we would have scored straight A's. HAHAHA

Moments . Lifetime
Sunday, March 8, 2009
Posted @ 7:42 PM

Some people say that people who commit suicide are courageous, because they are brave enough to do it. But I say, people who carry on living with their lives are more courageous.

To me,
One only needs to pluck up a moment of courage to commit suicide,
but One needs to pluck up the lifetime of courage to live on.

Because there are many moments in a lifetime,
and in different moments of a lifetime, it is unpredictable.
The unexpectedness of what the future may hold is even more of a challenge,
for one to carry on and brave through it.

We can see how people get by their lives, no matter how difficult it was.
They are poor.
They are ill.
But they never gave up,
they struggled on.
Why?
because they cherish life and their loved ones.
Live, if not for others, for yourself, at least.

They, are how I derived 'courageous' to be defined as.

Been watching GTO and Perfect Cut 2!
Ok, very sudden topic change. HAHA

GTO is such an addictive show! I didn't know it was only 12-episodes though I've watched it years back... I wished it was more! Takashi Sorimachi & Nanako Matsushima are so matching! And they are real-life married couple too, thanks to GTO. =x
A way cool show about a unique teacher and his problematic students!

Didn't watch Perfect Cut before, but after hearing much commendations about it, I decided to catch the series 2, which is currently showing Weekdays @ 10pm on Channel U.

The script was very well-written I must say!
While most people would be on the side on which you think is right, they present you the practical and reasonable explanations to which you thought were wrong, which makes you think again, who should I support or where should I stand now?
I was already moved by the story after watching 3 episodes last week.
And the explicit cosmetic surgery operation scenes is a unique factor of the show because rarely would you see such programmes on our local TV.

The theme song of the show - 放了爱 by 郭美美 (Jocie Kwok) is another plus point of the show, catchy and touching.

This is Perfect Cut's theme song - 我知道我变漂亮了 by 石欣卉 (Sin Huey)

200th post!
Thursday, March 5, 2009
Posted @ 8:30 PM

I thought I've set the date wrongly when I saw the date today: 05 March 2009, on my phone. Haha. I thought it's the 10th or something already... That's what happens when you haven't got much things to do and lazing around in the house, you won't be as alert about the date as when...
You have deadlines to meet.

Went with Jov and Leen to Harvey Norman to make the much desired 'purchase' which had been prolonged for months. Ended up buying GTO DVD at TS, to reminisce (and to kill time at home) which I enjoyed that drama so much! They put it in The Little Nyonya carrier. HAHA. And bought some batteries and battery charger... well, that's the most which I could spend on with the $300 voucher divided among 7 of us. HA!

Then played badminton with PS and RW. Didn't play long though, they were tired. HAHA It's been so long since I last played badminton... can't play well, but love the game =x
Oh forget to mention that it has been raining when it's approaching evening for the past few days but it's just nice that when we want to play badminton today, it didn't!

Exercised, paid bills, transfer funds, deposit money, buy stuff... and went Sheng Siong in the morning with Mum & nephew... did quite a lot of things today, which makes it a FILLED DAY, and that's great.

I ought to do something to make this holiday a more enjoyable and fun-filled one.
Human are such, when you are busy, you wish you had more time.
When you don't have things to do, you wish you had more to do.
But of course, anyone would prefer the latter, isn't it?
---------------------------------------------------------------------

Alright, here's Destination Most Wanted episodes, requested by PS.
