Bye bye 2009!

Watched Bodyguards and Assassins today.
Wasn't really up to what I had expected from all the good reviews I've heard about.

Maybe they should elaborate on how important Sun Zhong Shan was to China, like his strategies? His words? I don't know. I just can't really feel the 'worth' for all the people that had sacrifced in order to protect him.

They can have a part 2 to this movie - showing the revolution after Sun Zhong Shan's planning with the 13 delegates.

There's a part where there's a sudden 'noise' in between the scene where Donnie Yen fought the tough guy and the scene where the rest are pulling the rickshaw and escaping with 'Sun Zhong Shan'... did it happen only in the cinema that I watch from or was it a technical problem in the movie?

Nevertheless, I'm attracted to the fighting scenes and all the fast moving actions that will make you clench your fist and twitch your eyebrow! It's not like those fast until your eyeballs got no time to catch it. The chasing scene was marvellous - the tough guy chasing Donnie Yen part. And to add on, this movie has strong casts with convincing acting skills.
Leon Lai's acting in this movie surprises me. Nicholas Tse also acted a role that is really different from his image. I didn't even realise Jackie Cheung made 'special appearance' in this movie!

-------------------------------------------------------

This had been quite a fulfilling year, given the opportunity to work on a LIVE show, got to meet new people, learn a lot of stuff and see a lot of STARS from internship. =x

Shared joyful and sad moments with school mates especially on the last day of DMC.

Had lots of joy with my little nephew - XiaoZhu around in the house... missing him now... just had a conversation with him over the phone, he said "Gu Gu~" SO CUTE!!

Though not having much chance to meet up with Jie Meis, but the feeling when we are all together again never changes. :)

Enjoyed the time spent with my family and friends.

Had great shows to watch.

Got my class 3 driving license. HOHO

Sad stuff... can't remember, maybe have to refer back to the older posts this year ba? Or maybe also can't find 'cos I don't really blog about sad stuff.

On this last day of 2009, I hope that you all had your great times too! And...
Hope that 2010 will be a great and promising year!
Wishing all of you a happy and enjoyable 2010!
See you all next year!

With lots of love,
LeeYan

Passed driving!
Wednesday, December 30, 2009
Posted @ 10:07 PM

I didn't dare to announce to the whole world I'm taking driving loh... 'cos I'm afraid that if I fail... paiseh leh!! But now since I've passed, YES! I passed my driving!! But if you noticed... like months ago... I've blogged in a subtle way about 'ONE STEP CLOSER!'... which means I've passed my theory one by one. =x
I'm a one-time passer for all! =x

Yesterday whenever I wake up in the middle of the night I'm thinking about the driving test I'm taking today lor. HAHA Then I don't know whether it's my imagination or my dream - that many people were congratulating me for passing my driving test. Wah. When I open my eyes, I thinking, "Shit. Did I just dreamt that I pass my driving?! Die lah. Better not because people say dreams are the opposite of reality!!"

And went for a warm-up session before the actual test, had lots of mistakes in the circuit, and my instructor told me not to be nervous... haha but wasn't very nervous leh. Just that, I was too cautious, I kept thinking that my wheels will hit the kerb so I didn't dare to turn to much. And later I consoled myself because through the research I've done online, there's this person who said that he had no problems during the warm up but he had lots of mistakes during the test, so I'm thinking, I'm the opposite then. =x

Oh my instructor also pointed out a girl opposite us who was having her driving test, doing vertical parking, had several attempts but still couldn't get in. I watched as I waited for my turn to do the parallel parking... then until I saw her reverse... almost there... but she mount kerb! At that moment my mind went "omg. Fail already..." I also don't really dare to laugh when my instructor gave a slight laughter 'cos I was scared of retribution later. =x

And finally, the test. I didn't know that for private candidates, they will use the car that you always use... I thought they'll ask me to use the school's car. I only knew that I was going to drive the same car when I was about to take the test. LOL

First one. Go up the ramp. I accidentaly stepped on the accelerator thinking that it's brake sia! The car nearly chiong forward too much, but I hurry step on the brake and clutch. I can sense the instructor look at me awhile. "Shit la, minus marks or not?" "Aiya, don't care, just do liao"... so continue... Second one, directional change, no problem.

Third one, vertical parking. No problem lah. But, walao. When I come out I heard a "KLANG!" sound at the back!! "OMG, shit. DIE LAH. STRIKE POLE IS IT?! Minus 10 points one or minus 4 points one?!" I prepared myself for the worst that it'll be the minus 10 marks one although I look back to check whether the pole was down, it wasn't... and I went on to the fourth one, crank course. No problem too. In between I was trying to peep at his hand-held monitor to see how many points have I got deducted but I couldn't see anything except the map. =x

Fifth one, S-course. At second turning... "AIYO... shit lah... looks like will hit kerb... tsk. How. Aiya, just reverse and do again, better than hit kerb minus 4 points." So reverse and do... success!

Sixth, parallel parking. Do first time, when I was reversing... "Eh, the poles' position don't look right, never mind, just try first..." I saw the poles still appearing at the left corner of rear windscreen, "AIYA, shit. Cannot." Drive forward, and I try again. "Hmm... the car seemed too far from the kerb, aiya try first... still cannot. TSK. DIE LAH. Everytime during practice also no problem how come now test like that?!" So I kept calm, just hoping that the 5 minutes limit won't be up so fast. "Ok lah, hiong hiong just go park nearer to the kerb lah." And finally I saw the poles at the right position as how I would have seen it always. And YAY! So out we went to the main road!

Not much problem... luckily. Most of the time his hands were off from his hand-held monitor so I was a bit relaxed... haha. I check my blind spot and mirror like nobody's business because that was the advice from the research I've done online. HEHE.
Then later he say "Go back to school." I thinking "AIYO, shit. So fast?! (It was less than half an hour) Die lah... is it because fail...?!" But later my cognitive dissonance acts up again, 'cos there were other double L plates driving in too. And as I was following him up the the 2nd floor... "Aiyo... is it pass or fail... pass or fail... pass or fail..." Kept chanting in my head. Sat down for a couple of minutes when he called me, and when I saw the paper, I calculated the points: -10
Only got deducted for 3 parts,
1. Change lane abruptly
2. Turn steering whilst vehicle is stationary
3. Strike pole/strike kerb

WAH. For that few seconds I couldn't believe I passed. HAHA I almost wanted to laugh out as I walk out with that piece of paper. =x

Had to watch the safety video... which I waited... and then later wait for my turn to apply the license... all the waiting was longer than my test... I almost fell asleep while waiting at the counter. Oh I counted, there was about 26 - 28 candidates... and only about half came back to watch the video. Ratio of girls to guys are almost the same ok. So, *erherm* mai siao siao hor.

Anyway. YAY! I've finally got my license! If not for the 2 months I left without doing anything after passing my FTT, I wouldn't have to renew my PDL! Very DUI~ 'cos I applied for PDL immediately after passing my FTT. But for 2 months I didn't do anything, didn't go for practical because that time I was busy with projects and exams... and when I got my test date, it was only 6 days from my PDL expiry!! TSK.

Aiyo... So advice, advice. Only apply PDL when you are going to take your practical lessons... if not it will expire in half a year and you have to spend another $25 to renew it!
Oh... and also... most of the time have to take lessons at night and weekend because of my internship... so have to pay more too!
Do some 'homework' before the test too, look for others' advice and also the test checklist.
But all in all, taking driving as private is of course cheaper lah.
Oh, and good luck to those who are taking license next year! Because there'll be no more guide poles for parking starting March next year!

Now that I've got my license... no more car. =/ Long story, so don't ask me why.
PS: Anyway, anyone have a 'Probation plate' that you don't need anymore? I want.

New City Beat

WAHAHA I've finally waited till this day - debut of New City Beat!

Quite a few 'internal joke', like the 锁紧歌词 instead of 锁定歌词 in 《我要唱下去》, you would get it if you had seen the episode which featured Kym, Yifong and Jeff! And Bryan mentioning Masters of the Sea when he was talking to Gurmit... Masters of the Sea was the very first drama he starred in.

And that classic car which they pointed out at the end of the show!! We've always seen it parked there! But don't know who's the owner though. Haha will find out one day =x

Looking forward to the one-hour version!

Happy holidays!

Tuesday
Finally got to see Jay Chou in person!! Though only passed by... but it's already "WAAA...~" Somemore so exclusive beacuse it's inside MCS, him going for radio interview! Hhaha =x Aiya... was kinda sad our theatre wasn't the one that he went to at the premiere...
Oh, the movie - The Treasure Hunters, is cool in terms of the swift actions, and the role really suited Jay, oh and also Zeng Zhi Wei is the funny character inside!! My impression of Lin Zhi Ling changed because of this movie too. She's very pretty and sweet in the show. But the story leaves you with disappointment in the end. So the only plus point is that Jay is starring in this movie. =x

Had our mini celebration at our mini corner yesterday for the coming holidays! Ordered pizza, wings, fries and nuggets for lunch proudly co-sponsored by LayH! XinY and FuY gave us little gifts for the festive season too! I got a 'Little Miss Naughty' keychain from XinY, and FuY got us all the Laos SEA Games souvenir keychain. Yay! Thanks so much!
And YAY again! It was the last day working this year!
Will be back working on the very first day of 2010 though.
But never mind.

Happy holidays and a very happy 2010 to all of you out there! Enjoy the year ahead!

P.S: Shall celebrate Christmas with New City Beat debut tomorrow @ 8pm on Ch 8!

She is BACK!

Before I get into the topic, let me go into the meet up with Jie Meis once again!
We went to 鼎泰豐 for dinner, and man. The food tastes great and at reasonal price (within the price range of $10 - $20 per pax if you go in big group and sharing different food) too! Recommended to go in a group of like 5 - 6.

The service is great too. Before you finish your tea to the bottom, they would have come by to fill it up already.

Hot and Sour soup that looks like shark's fins that you drink at wedding dinner... had to add chilli and vinegar to make it hot and sour though. =x

小笼包!! YUMMY!

杂酱面 *slurps*

Prawn dumpling... the bottom part has the biting feel of the 小笼包!

担担面! Tastes like 干捞面, except with the additional taste of the peanut sauce.

豆沙包. I've no idea why was it ordered, but the read bean paste filling inside tastes sweet and fresh, those type that you won't get sick for eating more!

Seafood fried rice I think. Rather normal, but each grain of rice is well separated which allows you to enjoy the chewing process.

Our presents exchanged!
PJ -> PS, PS -> PJ, Me -> PB, PB -> RW, KF -> Me, HP -> KF, RW -> HP

Get ready for a shock...

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mummy is finally BACK from Aussie yesterday!!!

She bought stuff back like for the whole 'village' like that... and she was supposed to buy me some Tshirts, and end uit's all too small! She always thought I'm very small size but I'm not that small lah... my body is long~
But anyway, here are the stuff she got me! And 2nd bro got me the Sachony shoes.

Went to Jia Ying's birthday celebration before that.

She made a very cute wish which made all of us roar with laughter: "I wish that Mummy will go to my wedding" HAHAHA How cute! Can't describe how clever and adorable she is as a 4 year old kid.

Don't know why they all look so 'blur' because it was supposed to be the '乐' (a.k.a happy) expression for this shot!

Will be uploading some videos...

And I"ve got a proper home-cooked meal today at last! The house feels much cleaner when I got home today. HAHA.
Not forgetting to post up a few photos of my dearest Xiao Zhu!!

Handsome boy!!~

Cheeky grin!

*AWWW* Feel like pinching his chubby cheeks!!

300th post! - The 7 meet up again
Sunday, December 13, 2009
Posted @ 10:50 PM

Yesterday calefare-d as wedding guests with Jov, Flo and Ying on Wee Li Lin's film - Forever. The 'bride and groom' in the film which we all along thought were the main leads wasn't so, which we found out only like 3 - 4 hours later. HAHA
Oh and director Han Yew Kwang was there too.
The film is a romantic comedy, will be shown on the big screen in the later half of 2010.

Then met up with jie meis for dinner at Suki Sushi, which the power tripped before we even start eating.

It's the second time I experience power trip after Friday's studio power trip, which all machines just got switched off and the floor downstairs were all dark. Took us quite some time for rehearsal to resume again. Things didn't turn out very smoothly at studio on Friday 'cos conti took over too early and our logos hasn't rolled yet! =/ But well, it's settled now.
And our juniors 'toured' the panel like an exhibition before the show starts... which is only see see look look haha. But I guess it'd have been a feel of 'wow-ness' because of the complications of the machines all around.

Were planning with jie meis on our overseas trip... and today received an email from Leen on the tigerairways 99cents flight! Hope will be able find time and make plans soon before the offer is over... which, is not quite possible until the following week.

It's either me or it's Orchard changing too fast. I haven't been to Orchard for a long time...
I was @.@ for 1 second when I saw two exits at Somerset MRT, one to 313, and another to Orchard Rd. Then I took the Orchard Rd one, going up the escalator... "EH? SHOPPING CENTRE?" When did this shopping centre came up?!"
So shaking off my shock, I exit by my left, "EH? Where is this?" Then went back and go by another exit. Then got it right.
I used to always see the 'Bovis' construction site which is forever under construction. So that's the shopping centre which they managed to settle with.

Christmas exchange session next Saturday! I don't know what to buy and what to wear!

Christmas greetings up first!
