Passed driving!

I didn't dare to announce to the whole world I'm taking driving loh... 'cos I'm afraid that if I fail... paiseh leh!! But now since I've passed, YES! I passed my driving!! But if you noticed... like months ago... I've blogged in a subtle way about 'ONE STEP CLOSER!'... which means I've passed my theory one by one. =x
I'm a one-time passer for all! =x
Yesterday whenever I wake up in the middle of the night I'm thinking about the driving test I'm taking today lor. HAHA Then I don't know whether it's my imagination or my dream - that many people were congratulating me for passing my driving test. Wah. When I open my eyes, I thinking, "Shit. Did I just dreamt that I pass my driving?! Die lah. Better not because people say dreams are the opposite of reality!!"
And went for a warm-up session before the actual test, had lots of mistakes in the circuit, and my instructor told me not to be nervous... haha but wasn't very nervous leh. Just that, I was too cautious, I kept thinking that my wheels will hit the kerb so I didn't dare to turn to much. And later I consoled myself because through the research I've done online, there's this person who said that he had no problems during the warm up but he had lots of mistakes during the test, so I'm thinking, I'm the opposite then. =x
Oh my instructor also pointed out a girl opposite us who was having her driving test, doing vertical parking, had several attempts but still couldn't get in. I watched as I waited for my turn to do the parallel parking... then until I saw her reverse... almost there... but she mount kerb! At that moment my mind went "omg. Fail already..." I also don't really dare to laugh when my instructor gave a slight laughter 'cos I was scared of retribution later. =x
And finally, the test. I didn't know that for private candidates, they will use the car that you always use... I thought they'll ask me to use the school's car. I only knew that I was going to drive the same car when I was about to take the test. LOL
First one. Go up the ramp. I accidentaly stepped on the accelerator thinking that it's brake sia! The car nearly chiong forward too much, but I hurry step on the brake and clutch. I can sense the instructor look at me awhile. "Shit la, minus marks or not?" "Aiya, don't care, just do liao"... so continue... Second one, directional change, no problem.
Third one, vertical parking. No problem lah. But, walao. When I come out I heard a "KLANG!" sound at the back!! "OMG, shit. DIE LAH. STRIKE POLE IS IT?! Minus 10 points one or minus 4 points one?!" I prepared myself for the worst that it'll be the minus 10 marks one although I look back to check whether the pole was down, it wasn't... and I went on to the fourth one, crank course. No problem too. In between I was trying to peep at his hand-held monitor to see how many points have I got deducted but I couldn't see anything except the map. =x
Fifth one, S-course. At second turning... "AIYO... shit lah... looks like will hit kerb... tsk. How. Aiya, just reverse and do again, better than hit kerb minus 4 points." So reverse and do... success!
Sixth, parallel parking. Do first time, when I was reversing... "Eh, the poles' position don't look right, never mind, just try first..." I saw the poles still appearing at the left corner of rear windscreen, "AIYA, shit. Cannot." Drive forward, and I try again. "Hmm... the car seemed too far from the kerb, aiya try first... still cannot. TSK. DIE LAH. Everytime during practice also no problem how come now test like that?!" So I kept calm, just hoping that the 5 minutes limit won't be up so fast. "Ok lah, hiong hiong just go park nearer to the kerb lah." And finally I saw the poles at the right position as how I would have seen it always. And YAY! So out we went to the main road!
Not much problem... luckily. Most of the time his hands were off from his hand-held monitor so I was a bit relaxed... haha. I check my blind spot and mirror like nobody's business because that was the advice from the research I've done online. HEHE.
Then later he say "Go back to school." I thinking "AIYO, shit. So fast?! (It was less than half an hour) Die lah... is it because fail...?!" But later my cognitive dissonance acts up again, 'cos there were other double L plates driving in too. And as I was following him up the the 2nd floor... "Aiyo... is it pass or fail... pass or fail... pass or fail..." Kept chanting in my head. Sat down for a couple of minutes when he called me, and when I saw the paper, I calculated the points: -10
Only got deducted for 3 parts,
1. Change lane abruptly
2. Turn steering whilst vehicle is stationary
3. Strike pole/strike kerb
WAH. For that few seconds I couldn't believe I passed. HAHA I almost wanted to laugh out as I walk out with that piece of paper. =x
Had to watch the safety video... which I waited... and then later wait for my turn to apply the license... all the waiting was longer than my test... I almost fell asleep while waiting at the counter. Oh I counted, there was about 26 - 28 candidates... and only about half came back to watch the video. Ratio of girls to guys are almost the same ok. So, *erherm* mai siao siao hor.
Anyway. YAY! I've finally got my license! If not for the 2 months I left without doing anything after passing my FTT, I wouldn't have to renew my PDL! Very DUI~ 'cos I applied for PDL immediately after passing my FTT. But for 2 months I didn't do anything, didn't go for practical because that time I was busy with projects and exams... and when I got my test date, it was only 6 days from my PDL expiry!! TSK.
Aiyo... So advice, advice. Only apply PDL when you are going to take your practical lessons... if not it will expire in half a year and you have to spend another $25 to renew it!
Oh... and also... most of the time have to take lessons at night and weekend because of my internship... so have to pay more too!
Do some 'homework' before the test too, look for others' advice and also the test checklist.
But all in all, taking driving as private is of course cheaper lah.
Oh, and good luck to those who are taking license next year! Because there'll be no more guide poles for parking starting March next year!
Now that I've got my license... no more car. =/ Long story, so don't ask me why.
PS: Anyway, anyone have a 'Probation plate' that you don't need anymore? I want.
