Queued up @ 6am for the free tix to Singapore Flyer!~
(Oh in case you didn't know, SMS '2009' to 79777, flash that SMS at the participating tourism location and you'll get free tix to it! Each person is limited to exchange for 4 tix, with one mobile, one SMS. Only available on February weekends!)
I thought we were early. But, I saw A LOT of people there already when I reached! Many queued overnight, with their mats & sleeping bags... *Amazed at the perseverance of Singaporeans* (Of course, amidst them are some foreigners as well...)
More people started to swarm in at around 7am+... and by then, it was already a whole 'cirlcle' of queue around the place, and they are at the 2nd round already. *Don't know if they are able to get the tix, though I felt the chances are slim 'cos only 2009 tix are given out*
Then there's this auntie who tried to cut queue. There were dissentments of course, and some told her to queue up, but she brushed them off by saying, "不要吵了啦,不要多事啦,我排回这边" (Be quiet, don't be kaypoh, I'll queue back here) repetitively. But the point is, she didn't even have her own queueing spot in the first place! But later on all let the matter rest on the account that she's an elderly... well... I felt pity for her too... My uncle said that she had a son with her earlier on, think he made her cut the queue thinking that people will just let it go (like what we did). Singaporean is flooding with compassion. But the good thing is that, being obedient Singaporeans, we all followed by the principle of queueing up.
Moving on to the carpark, there were 'congestion' because of... you know, the exit is at one corner, entrance is at another, but I guess one car turned left (towards the entrance corner) and turned one big round to go to the exit when he/she could have turned right to exit, leading up to the cars behind follow suit... blind follows the blind... and there, you have all the cars stuck, some are entering, some are trying to exit because there's no way but to follow the 'direction to exit' already.
Then the guy who was queueing before us during our queue for the tix, parking beside my uncle's car, got down from his, and initiates to direct the traffic, wah... he does it like a professional I tell you. And later on it was all smooth sailing already! *APPLAUSE*
Had 'big prawn noodles' at the Old Changi Airport road hawker. Nice! But I can't stand the soup (not that I can sit on it also), 'cos there's a 'fishy' smell *yes although there's no fish... you know what I mean*.

*And here's the update! (25 Feb, 3.08am)
Different views of the capsule

That's almost everyone... with some extended family members in it too
Time flies when you are up there ok... I just feel that it's not enough!~ I feel like having more rounds of it. That time when the Flyer had short circuit, the people were stuck on it for hours... wah, don't know if you call that a blessing in disguise, ok, it is from my point of view... too optimistic huh. HAHA But how often do you have such encounters of being trapped and having such scenic view?
There's still construction going on for the integrated resort (IR) - our country's mega project going to be up next year, I guess by then when you are on the Flyer, the view would be even more superb! It simply lifts the mood of one when you are on it.
Here's how the view looks like up there!

Just when you are thinking - "What's there to see of the scenery in Singapore?"
Let me show you with a wider angle view

The zoom that I could go on to that little thing with white streamlines behind it in the above picture shows this

Some dragon-boating people

A dockng boat

The Esplanade

Our current stadium used for National Day performances, and yes that's a soccer field you see on the 'floating stage'

This is my youngest cousin, almost 2-months old now!

"Ok... I'm having second thoughts"

The level at which we are progressing down to end our "ferris wheel" trip

And that's the big wheel behind me!
That's my nephew shouting because he was jealous at the sight of...

this - my bro piggy-backing my cousin!

Some candid shots with my little cousins!

She was sick, so wasn't as active as usual... aww. Sick-ness just boils down the mood.

We had our dinner @ Lau Pa Sat - a place which I have no recollection of, but the interior design of it is very Britain, and of such a contrast from the street right outside, the 'satay street', which is very local culturistic, and which reminds me of our AM tactics for LCG!
And see, there's even a 'stage' on top of the fruit juice bar for band performance of a regular basis provided by Lau Pa Sat!
So yeah, have a chance to take a ride on the Flyer!~ I want to have a ride on it when the IR is up...
